Undo the nut (2a) and move back the bolt (2b) to release the air conditioner compressor mounting bracket (2c).
1. Slacken the bolts securing the alternator rear mounting bracket.
Lower the ramp.1. Disconnect the connectors of pipes (1a) and (1b) on the compressor.
Seal the disconnected connectors, using suitable plugs, to prevent humidity and impurities from entering the system.
2. Slacken, without removing, the top bolts securing the air conditioner compressor.
Raise the car on a lift.1. Disconnect the compressor electrical connector.

2. Slacken, without removing, the bottom bolts securing the air conditioner compressor.3. Remove the front anchor bracket, held by the compressor bottom bolts.4. Remove the compressor through the wheelarch, timing gear side.
If the compressor is being replaced, it is available as a spare part containing the recommended amount of fluid. For this reason, before fitting it on the vehicle, the amount of fluid which corresponds to that remaining in the system must be removed. In order to do this it is necessary to:1. Drain the fluid contained in the compressor through the hole for attaching the pipe from the air conditioner compressor to the condenser. If necessary, rotate the compressor several times, manually, to remove all the fluid.
The fluid is extremely hygroscopic: avoid leaving the containers open. Avoid leaving the compressor or any other component disconnected from the system for longer than is strictly necessary.
1. Pour the quantity of fluid (1a) present in the compressor to be replaced in a graduated test tube (1b), taking care to let the contents drain well.2. Pour the quantity of fluid (2a) present in the new compressor in a graduated test tube (2b), taking care to let the contents drain well.
1. Remove the excess amount of fluid (1a) corresponding to the difference between the quantity of fluid contained in the test tube (1b) and the test tube (1c).2. Introduce the remaining amount of oil in the new compressor.
Refitting ( Removing ) Check that the compressor is not damaged.Refit the compressor and connect the relevant electrical connection.
