Description

To make the protective action of the front seat belts more effective, the vehicle is fitted with pretensioners.

In the case of an impact, these devices make it possible to:

• firstly, improve the adherence of the seat belts to the body of the occupants;
• later, retain the actual body.

It is possible to tell that the pretensioner has been activated because the reel locks; the belt will remain locked.The two front pretensioners are operated by an electronic control unit which is protected by a fuse located inside the junction unit under the dashboard.A fixed warning light in the instrument panel (the same one as the Air Bag failure) signals if the pretensioners are faulty.
