Before removing and refitting the Air Bag module, the following preliminary operations must be carried out: (1) turn the ignition off (''STOP''); (2) disconnect and isolate the battery cables; (3) wait 10 minutes before proceeding.

Removing ( Refitting ) 1. Use tool (1a) to prise open studs (1b) and remove control unit protection (1c).

2. Disconnect electrical connectors (2a), unscrew retaining bolts (2b) and remove air bag control unit (2c).

Refitting ( Removing ) Follow these precautions:

never strike or shake the control unit; do not connect the electrical connection to the control unit before having fixed the control unit correctly; Ensure that the battery leads are disconnected in all cases.

If the control unit is being replaced, remove the removable part of the adhesive label from the new control unit and place it in a special file containing the vehicle details (model, registration date, chassis number) and the serial number of the old control unit. This file should be kept for future checks.

Fit the air bag control unit and secure with bolts.Connect the Air Bag control unit electrical connection.
