Removing ( Refitting ) Before the repair in question, the vehicle should be in the following condition: tailgate and wing removed.Check if any of the connected parts are deformed by checking body alignment dimensions. Use appropriate measurement tools (reference rigs, templates or gauges).Straighten the body if necessary.1. Using a pneumatic saw, cut the upper part of the pillar trim along the cutting line shown in the diagram.2. Reduce the spot welds on the trim and remove part of it.3. Eliminate traces of sealant along the edges of the rear window housing.4. Remove the pillar trim from the body.
1. Straighten the edges of the panel.2. Use a grinding wheel to remove the spot weld residues.Apply electro-galvanizing paint to the parts which have been ground.Clean sealant residues off areas adjacent to the window housing.
1. Use a rotary brush to remove the corrosion-proofing around the edge of the parts.2. Apply electro-galvanized paint to the edges of the replacement part that will come into contact with the vehicle.

1. Correctly position the replacement rear pillar (1a) on the bodyshell and secure it using self-locking clamps (1b).Check it is properly aligned.
1. Spot weld along the area shown in the figure.2. Fill weld the side and lower area shown in the figure.3. Solder the joint area near the roof panel trim.
Level the spot welds.Apply electro-galvanizing paint to the parts which have been ground.
When the work is completed, refit the elements removed previously. |
