2585550 - E7035 PRETENSIONERS - DESCRIPTION
Functional description
The operation of the pretensioner system is managed by the pretensioner
control unit
M61
. The supply is controlled by the ignition
(INT) at pin 6 via the line leaving pin 6 of connector E of the
junction unit under the dashboard
B02
. This line enters
the control unit at pin 11 connector E and is protected internally
by fuse
F50
.
The pretensioners control unit is earthed
at pin 5.When a frontal impact of a certain
severity (depending on the software setting) is detected, the control
unit sends control signals for the operation of the following modules:
- driver's side pretensioner Q20 (from pins 7 and
8);
- passenger side pretensioner Q21 (from pins 9 and
10).
It also communicates from pin 11 with the
instrument panel
E50
(pin 13 connector B) for lighting up
the warning light in the case of an impact or fault.
The supply for the body computer
M01
is both controlled by the ignition and direct to pin 11 of connector
E (INT) and pin A of connector C of the junction unit under the
dashboard
B02
.
There is a protective fuse F1 for the direct
supply located in the engine compartment junction unit
B01
.
These lines also supply the instrument panel
and split inside the junction unit under the dashboard
B02
(MAXIFUSE).
The lines are protected by fuses
F37
and
F53.
Pins 8 and 9 connector D of the body computer
M01
are connected to earth. This reference signal is also
supplied to the panel via pin 36 of the body computer.
