223001496 - E2020 DIRECTION INDICATORS / HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Functional description

The circuit is controlled by the body computer M01 which receives a signal to activate the direction indicators from both the steering column switch unit H05 (at pin 7 connector D, pin 30 connector F) and from the switch unit H90 (at pins 29 and 34 of connector F). The steering column switch unit H05 receives a supply controlled by the ignition (STAZ) at pin 5 connector B, whilst the control unit H90 receives a supply controlled by the ignition (INT) at pin 6 connector A via a line protected by fuse F49 housed in the junction unit under the dashboard B02 .

Once the control for the direction indicators is operated, the body computer M01 is involved in supplying the appropriate direction indicators:

  • left front light F10 from pin 38 of connector C;
  • right front light F11 from pin 39 of connector C;
  • left rear light F30 from pin 12 of connector A;
  • right rear light F31 from pin 3 connector A;
  • left side direction indicator F20 from pin 2 connector A;
  • right side direction indicator F21 from pin 13 connector A;
At the same time, the body computer M01 lights up the warning light in the instrument panel E50 via pins 5 and 6 of connector D. By pressing the switch in the control panel H90 the red LED in the actual switch which lights up the ideogram comes on intermittently. H90 supplies all the direction indicators via pins 29 and 34 of connector F entering the body computer.The supply for the body computer M1 is both controlled by the ignition and direct to pin 11 of connector E (INT) and pin A of connector C of the junction unit under the dashboard B02 . There is a protective fuse F1 for the direct supply located in the engine compartment junction unit B01 .These lines also supply the instrument panel dividing into two inside the junction unit under the dashboard B02 . The lines are protected by fuses F37 and F53. Pins 8 and 9 connector D of the body computer M01 are connected to earth. This reference signal is also supplied to the panel via pin 36 of connector F of the body computer.
