244001691 - E2510 COURTESY LIGHTS DESCRIPTION

Description

The front courtesy light includes two courtesy lights with two control switches.One selector turns on the left or right courtesy light while the other selector alters the courtesy light operation as follows:

  • mode A: light permanently on;
  • mode B: courtesy light (turns on/off by opening/closing one of the front doors);
  • mode C: light always off.
In "courtesy light" mode, the courtesy light activation/deactivation command comes from one of the front door switches housed in the door pillars.The system is controlled by the control panel that supplies power to the courtesy light and controls activation of a warning light on the instrument panel on the basis of earth signals from the above door switches.Another courtesy light in the rear double-door area operates when the doors are open/closed.System power lines are protected by special fuses housed in the underfacia junction unit and engine bay.Further courtesy lights in the passenger area complete the interior lighting array on Panorama and Combi versions. These also operate in courtesy light mode in accordance with the same operating criteria as the front light.
