Removing ( Refitting ) - Close the tailgate to facilitate the operations.

two people are needed to remove the tailgate

- Support the tailgate.1. Undo the bolts fixing the centre sliding pulley and remove it from the tailgate. 1. Undo the bolts fixing the mounting bracket to the lower sliding pulley. - Remove the tailgate releasing it from the upper guide. Refitting ( Removing ) - Position the tailgate fitting the upper pulley in the guide.- Screw in the bolts fixing the mounting bracket to the lower sliding pulley without tightening them.- Position the centre pulley on the tailgate and screw in the fixing bolts without tightening them.1. Remove the oddments pocket (if fitted).2. Loosen the front bolts (2a) and the inner bolts (2b) fixing the sliding guide and adjust the lengthwise position.

- Tighten the bolts fixing the sliding guide.- Fit the oddments pocket.1. Loosen the bolts fixing the centre pulley (1a) and the mounting bracket to the lower pulley (1b) and adjust the vertical position.

- Tighten the bolts fixing the mounting bracket to the lower sliding pulley to the recommended torque.

1. Loosen the bolts fixing the upper pulley (1a) and the bolts fixing the mounting bracket to the lower pulley (1b) and adjust the alignment.

- Tighten the bolts fixing the mounting bracket to the lower sliding pulley to the recommended torque.

- Tighten the bolt fixing the upper pulley to the recommended torque.

- Completely open the tailgate.1. Loosen the bolt fixing the ratchet gear, adjust the position of the locking device and retighten the fixing bolt.2. Tighten the adjustment screw (to reduce) or loosen it (to increase) the load.

1. Loosen the bolts fixing the front striker to the bodyshell and adjust the position.

- Tighten the fixing bolts.1. Loosen the bolts fixing the front striker to the bodyshell and adjust the position of the front pins.
