The tachograph is a device that records vehicle speed, the route followed and the following four hour groups:
driving time;
further working time;
times of availability;
intervals and resting times.
It is connected to a specific sensor fitted to the gearbox, which converts rpm into electrical signals. The sensor is fitted so it cannot be disconnected or removed, except by authorised service centres.The tachograph receives power directly from the battery and from the ignition. The lines are protected by special fuses housed in the optional and basic underfacia junction unit.
