244002034 - E7050 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DESCRIPTION

Description

The vehicle is equipped with automatic transmission which regulates and controls the automatic engagement of the gears. An electronic control unit manages a complex operating logic that allows the use of the gearbox in both sequential conditions, in which the driver manages the engagement of the gears using the lever and, in automatic mode, where the management of the gear changes is delegated to the electronic system. The automatic transmission control unit can move automatically to different programmes in relation to specific conditions, such as: driving up a hill, down a hill or round a bend, unmade roads, etc. and, on the basis of fundamental parameters such as the vehicle speed, engine speed and pressure on the brake pedal.Using the special signals transmitted by the automatic transmission control unit, the instrument panel matrix display shows device failure status and also warns of automatic transmission fluid overheating, whilst the milometer indicates the gear currently selected. There is also a buzzer if the gearbox is not in the safety "P" (Parking) position or if it is in the reverse position "R" withe the driver''s door open. The control unit has its own diagnostic signal used for the continuous monitoring of the entire device.VedereE8010CONNETTORE MULTIPLO DI DIAGNOSIThe system is also controlled by a relay located in the engine compartment junction unit. The supply lines for the control units and the various system components are protected by special fuses in the engine bay and under-facia junction units.
