312000795 - 1040AB SUBMERGED FUEL PUMP CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDREMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Check continuity of pump windingDisconnect the battery leadsDisconnect pump relay T17Connect an Examiner in ohmmeter mode between pin 87 of the engine compartment fuse box control unit connector and earthCheck that the electric pump winding resistance is 1.5 Ohm±20% at 20°C. Move on to step 2.Restore the pump earth connection.
2Electric pump uptake checkDisconnect the negative battery leadDisconnect petrol pump relay T17Reconnect the negative battery lead.Connect 10A pliers N° 1806505000 to the Examiner diagnostic equipment using cable EX01 in Examiner Kit case N° 1806337000Bridge pin 87 with pin 30 of the connector for relay T17 using a lead fitted with a 15A fuse.Position the 10A ammeter pliers so that they close around the bridgeMake sure that the plier jaws are completely closed; this is signalled by the red LED on the pliers going outCheck that the current uptake value is between 4 and 8A with a battery voltage of no less than 12.5 Volts.Replace the fuel supply pump    Op. 1040A70 SUBMERGED PUMP ASSEMBLY COMPLETE WITH LEVEL GAUGE CONTROL - R + R Replace 15A fuse F21, if blown, after having established what caused it to blowRestore the continuity of the wiring between the junction unit and the pumpReplace the pump relayRestore the continuity of the wiring between the junction unit and the engine control unit.Replace the junction unitOp. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.Replace the engine control unit    Op. 1056B82 INJECTION/IGNITION SYSTEM E.C.U.
