312000876 - E2010 SIDE LIGHTS/NUMBER PLATE LIGHT - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The daylight lights (D.R.L.) built into the left-hand F069 and right-hand F070 additional headlamps (pin 3) are activated from pins 28 and 13 of connector B of Body Computer M001 respectively when the latter receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT) at pin 11 of connector E.Body Computer M001 also receives a direct battery power supply (pin 1 of connector A) protected by fuse F01 in engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 18 of connector B).Body Computer M001 is connected to driver-side dashboard earth C015 via pins 9 and 10 of connector E.The activation control for the side/number plate lights via the left-hand lever control wheel on steering wheel interface H005, receives a reference earth at pin 2 of connector B of the steering wheel interface.Body Computer M001 (pin 51 of connector D) receives the side/number plate lights activation command from steering wheel interface H005 (pin 7 of connector B).Body Computer M001 controls the activation of the side lights; in particular:

  • from pin 29 of connector B, for left-hand additional headlamp F069 (pin 6);
  • from pin 30 of connector B, for right-hand additional headlamp F070 (pin 6);
  • from pin 20 of connector F, for left-hand rear light cluster F030 (pin 5);
  • from pin 5 connector F, for right-hand rear light cluster F031 (pin 1);
  • from pin 15 of connector F, for left and right-hand number plate lights built into no. plate light and boot opening external switch unit F055 (pin 1).
Additional headlamps F069 and F070 are connected to left-hand front earth C010.Rear light clusters F030 and F031 and no. plate light unit F055 are connected to left-hand rear earth C030.Body Computer M001 receives an ignition-operated (INT/A) power supply that excludes the daylight lights and side/number plate lights during start-up, at pin 1 of connector E.The connection between pins 3 and 4 of connector B of steering wheel interface H005 and pins 44 and 6 of connector D of Body Computer M001 (indicator lights) allows one branch of the vehicle parking lights to be individually selected (left or right respectively).The Follow me home function is activated by a main beam flasher earth signal sent from steering wheel interface H005 (pin 5 of connector B) to Body Computer M001 (pin 36 of connector D).Body Computer M001 is connected to instrument panel E050 (pins 5 and 6) via the B-CAN from pins 18 and 20 of connector D, to manage the side lights warning light and the general failure warning light and associated messages on the display in the event of faults detected in the daylight lights and side/number plate lights circuits.The daylight lights function can be deactivated by operating the buttons to the right of the instrument panel using the special Set-up menu on the instrument panel display.
