312000891 - E2020 DIRECTION INDICATORS/HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Body Computer M001 receives a direct battery power supply (pin 1 of connector A) protected by fuse F01 in engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 18 of connector B); it also receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT) at pin 11 of connector E.Body Computer M001 is also connected to driver-side dashboard earth C015 via pins 9 and 10 of connector E.The activation control for the direction indicator lights via the left-hand lever on steering wheel interface H005, receives a reference earth at pin 2 of connector B of the steering wheel interface.Body Computer M001 (pins 44 and 6 of connector D) receives the left and right direction indicators activation commands from steering wheel interface H005 (pins 3 and 4 of connector B) respectively.The hazard warning lights activation button, located in switch unit H090, receives a reference earth from pin 37 of connector D of Body Computer M001, and sends the function activation signal to pin 7 of the same connector.Body Computer M001 controls the activation of the direction indicator lights; in particular:

  • from pin 10 of connector B, for left-hand main headlamp F010 (pin 3);
  • from pin 8 of connector B, for right-hand main headlamp F011 (pin 3);
  • from pin 2 of connector F, left-hand side direction indicator F020;
  • from pin 18 of connector F, right-hand side direction indicator F021;
  • from pin 1 of connector F, for left-hand rear light cluster F030 (pin 1);
  • from pin 3 of connector F, for right-hand rear light cluster F031 (pin 5).
Main headlamps F010 (left) and F011 (right) are connected to left-hand front earth C010.Rear light clusters F030 and F031 and side lights F020 and F021 are connected to left-hand rear earth C030.Body Computer M001 is connected to instrument panel E050 (pins 5 and 6) via the B-CAN from pins 18 and 20 of connector D, to manage the direction indicator/hazard lights warning lights and the general failure warning light and associated messages on the display in the event of faults detected in the circuit.
