FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The windscreen wiper mode selector and the activation button for the windscreen washer pump, built into the steering wheel interface H005, receive a reference earth at pin 2 of connector B of the steering wheel interface.According to the lever position, Body Computer M001 (connector D) receives the activation commands:

  • intermittent, to pin 57 from pin 7 of connector A of H005;
  • 1st operating speed, to pin 54 from pin 8 of connector A of H005;
  • 2nd operating speed or anti-panic mode, to pin 56 from pin 9 of connector A of H005.
Similarly, the windscreen washer command is sent from pin 6 of connector A of H005 to pin 55 of connector D of Body Computer M001.Body Computer M001 receives power direct from the battery (pin 1 of connector A) protected by fuse F01 of engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 18 of connector B); however, this is powered when the ignition is on (INT) to pin 11 of connector E.Body Computer M001 is powered when the ignition is on (INT/A) at pin 1 of connector E, excluding the windscreen washer/wiper system during start-up.Body Computer M001 is connected to the driver-side dashboard earth C015 via pins 9 and 10 of connector E.According to the function selected, Body Computer M001 sends the following control signals to wiper motor N015:

  • from pin 14 of connector C for fast operation (pin 1);
  • from pin 3 of connector C for slow and/or intermittent operation (pin 5);
  • pin 39 of connector B on the other hand, receives the earth signal coming from the motor end of travel cam which stops operation (pin 3).
Windscreen wiper motor N015 is connected (pin 2) to the left front earth C010.Body Computer M001 (pins 44 and 45 of connector B) receives vehicle speed information via the C-CAN from braking system control unit M051.    See E1050 CAN CONNECTION LINES Therefore, with the windscreen wiper in intermittent mode, Body Computer M001 regulates the wiper arm stroke speed according to vehicle speedBody Computer M001 sends two signals from pins 15 (negative) and 2 (positive) of connector C, which operates the windscreen/rearscreen washer two-way pump N022 which then sends the liquid detergent back to the rearscreen wiper under the effect of the polarisation described previously. The supply line from the pump is protected by fuse F43 of Body Computer M001.As described above, when the windscreen wiper and reverse gear are engaged, Body Computer M001 (pin 13 of connector C) automatically activates the rearscreen wiper.    See E3021 REAR WINDOW WASH/WIPE
