312001716 - 5040DH SEQUENTIAL PROCEDURE FOR CHECKING MIXTURE AND DISTRIBUTION ACTUATOR OPERATION

This type of actuator works by reversing the power supply polarity of the motor. Therefore, if it is supplied in one way it turns in one direction and to make it rotate in the other direction the polarity must be reversed.
Disconnect the electrical connector for the mixture actuator    See N081 MIXTURE FLAP ACTUATOR or distribution actuator    See N080 AIR DISTRIBUTION FLAP ACTUATOR (according to which one is to be tested) and supply it directly with a 12 V battery, connecting the positive battery pole to Pin 5 and the negative one to Pin 6.Check that with the power supply like that the actuator turns. If this does not happen, reverse the polarity at Pins 5 and 6 and check that the actuator now turns in one direction.Place the actuator in the end of travel position, then reverse the polarity and place it in the opposite end of travel position.Repeat this test at least twice, checking that the actuator completes the travel in both directions without problems. If there are problems with the travel, check that they are not due to the presence of mechanical impediments or interference. If this is the case, eliminate them and repeat the test.Connect the diagnostic equipment in Ohmmeter mode between Pins 1 and 3 of the actuator and check that the resistance is between 3.76 and 5.64 Ohm.Connect the diagnostic equipment in ohmmeter mode between Pins 1 and 2 of the actuator and check that the resistance measured varies continuously during the actuator travel.
