312000744 - 1060GC TIMING SENSOR OPERATION CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDREMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Timing sensor power supply checkSelect the VOLTMETER mode from the INSTRUMENT menu on ExaminerConnect the positive probe to pin 3 and the negative probe to pin 1 of the timing sensorTurn the ignition to MARCIA and check for a voltage of approximately 5 VoltsRestore the wiring between the engine control unit and the sensorIf the wiring is OK and the power supply is interrupted at the control unit outputReplace the engine control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
2Timing sensor signal checkPrepare the diagnostic equipment to download a voltage graph.Select the VOLTMETER function from the INSTRUMENT menu with the time set at 2 seconds.Connect it to the probes between pins 3 and 2.Press the START button on the diagnostic equipment to begin downloading a graph.Crank the engine for at least 5 seconds and check that the signal corresponds to the attached graph .Move on to Step 3Restore the wiring between the engine control unit and the timing sensorReplace the timing sensor    Op. 1060G22 CAM ANGLE SENSOR - R.R
3Timing sensor visual inspectionCheck, by removing the timing sensor, that the final side of the sensor and the signal rotor tooth do not have metal particles or signs of damage.Replace the timing sensor    Op. 1060G22 CAM ANGLE SENSOR - R.R Replace the camshaft if the rotor-signal tooth is damagedOp. 1036C10 CAMSHAFTS IN CAMSHAFT HOUSING - R.R - INCLUDES CAMSHAFT HOUSING REPLACEMENT, IF NECESSARY
