There is only one bulb in the front courtesy light which can be switched on or off using the relevant switch or through a delay timer as described below.The courtesy light operation is timed according to a logic managed by the body computer: Specifically:
when any of the doors is opened it comes on for around 3 minutes. The timer is reactivated each time a door is opened;
when all the doors are closed, with the ignition OFF, the light stays on for a further 10 seconds. This time is interrupted if the key is turned to the ON position: in this case, the courtesy light is turned off immediately;
when all the doors are closed with the ignition ON the courtesy light is immediately switched off;
when the key is removed, the courtesy light comes on and a 10 second timer is activated;
the courtesy light is turned off immediately when there is a door locking command from the key or remote control (if present);
at the door unlocking command from the key or remote control (if present), the courtesy light is turned on and a 10 second timer is activated.
The switching on or off of the courtesy light takes place gradually (dimmer) with the cycle lasting 2 seconds.This vehicle does not have an inertia switch; the fuel cut off function is managed by the Air Bag control unit which, after detecting an impact, sends the FPS signal (Fire Prevention System) via the network activating the front courtesy light for 15 minutes.On versions not equipped with central locking, the activation of the courtesy light is not timed and is managed directly by the button or when the driver''s door is opened.The power supply for the courtesy light is governed by a battery voltage control logic (known as “SBMT”): the Body Computer continuously acquires the battery voltage signal and compares it with its own limit value.In Key-Off conditions and when any one of the doors or the boot is opened, a timed period of 15 minutes is set; all the lights are deactivated after this delay period.
