Removing ( Refitting )     Op. 7040L20 TUNNEL COVER - R.R 1. Loosen the adjustment nut (1a) and release the parking brake control cable (1b) from the bracket (1c).
- Position the vehicle on a lift.- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

    Op. 4450B06 LEFT REAR WHEEL - R.R     Op. 4450B08 RIGHT REAR WHEEL - R.R 1. Remove the protective covers.2. Disconnect the handbrake cables from the fastenings on the shoes.
1. Disconnect the rigid oil pipe to the rear brakes, unscrewing the fitting with the flexible section.2. Release the handbrake cables from the retainers on the rear axle.- Carry out the same operation for both the oil pipes and the handbrake cables.
1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the rear wheel rpm sensor.- Carry out the same operation for the remaining sensor.

1. Fit the rear axle mounting tool to a hydraulic lift.
1. Undo the bolts securing the shock absorbers to the body.- Lower the hydraulic jack slowly.2. Remove both rear suspension coil springs.
1. Undo the bolts securing the rear axle to the body.2. Lower the hydraulic jack slowly and remove the rear axle with the aid of a second operator.
Refitting ( Removing ) - Check the condition of the rear axle.
Before refitting the rear suspension axle check that there are no cracks or distortions. If there are, replace it.
- Fit the rear axle to the support tool positioned on a hydraulic lift. 1. Fit the rear axle (1a) in place and tighten the fixing bolts (1b) to the recommended torque.

- Fit the coil springs in their seats in the correct position.- Tighten the bolts securing the shock absorber to the body.
Tighten the bolts securing the shock absorber to the body and the rear axle with the vehicle under theoretical design load conditions as described below.
1. Connect the electrical connection for the rear wheel rpm sensor.- Carry out the same operation for the remaining sensor.

- Connect the rigid oil pipe to the rear brakes, tightening the fitting with the flexible section to torque.- Position the handbrake cables on the retainers on the rear axle.- Connect the handbrake cables to the fastenings on the shoes and fit the protective covers.    Op. 4450B06 LEFT REAR WHEEL - R.R     Op. 4450B08 RIGHT REAR WHEEL - R.R - Adjust the vehicle to conditions of theoretical design load to tighten the bolts screwed in previously to torque.- Position the vehicle on a support so that the wheels are resting on the ground.- Arrange the vehicle in standard A conditions, i.e. vehicle with spare wheel, tool kit, all tanks and reservoirs full and fuel tank full. Check that the tyre inflation pressure is within specified values.

- Check that the distance between the maximum point of curvature of the rear wing and the wheel centre is equal to 626 mm.
Note that this operation is essential to ensure efficient rear suspension operation and to prevent premature damage to the shock absorber and rear axle rubber bushes.
- Tighten the upper bolts securing the shock absorber to the body to the recommended torque.
