Removing ( Refitting )     Op. 7210E28 R.R. ROOF PANEL - Ensure that the components connected are not distorted by checking the body alignment measurements with suitable equipment (reference rigs, templates or gauges).- Straighten the body as necessary.
- Use a rotary brush to remove the paint and gain access to the spot welds. 1. Using a chamfering machine, reduce the spot welds at the edges of the roof supporting crossmember housing.
1. Working from the inside of the vehicle, straighten the tab fixing the crossmember to the body at both edges of the roof supporting crossmember.- Remove the crossmember using a hammer and chisel.
1. Straighten the edges of the panel.- Remove the spot weld residues using a disc grinder.- Correct any distortions to the panel using a mallet and dolly block.- Apply electroweldable paint to the edges of the bodyshell involved in the welding later on.
Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Remove the anti-corrosion treatment from the perimeter of the replacement part shown in the diagram using a rotary brush.- Apply the electro-galvanizing paint to the edges in contact with the vehicle.
1. Position the replacement part correctly on the bodyshell and secure it using self-locking clamps.- Check that it is perfectly aligned.
1. Working from the inside of the vehicle, fold the tab fixing the crossmember to the body at both edges of the roof supporting crossmember.
1. Use a spot welder to weld the crossmember in the areas shown in the diagram.- Correct any distortions to the panel using a mallet and dolly block.
- Use a rotary brush to clean the previously welded areas.- Apply rustproofing to the areas involved in the welding.    Op. 7210E28 R.R. ROOF PANEL
