1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the engine oil pressure switch.

2. Undo the bolt and release the earth lead from the compressor.

1. Detach the electrical connection for the fuel vapour recovery solenoid.

2. Detach the electrical connection for the throttle body.

3. Disconnect the injector wiring coupling.

4. Open the collar and release the wiring.
1. Prise up the pipe from air chamber2. Disconnect the band (2a) and withdraw the oil vapour pipe (2b).3. Undo the upper bolt securing the air chamber to the cylinder head.
1. Open the retaining clips and move the engine wiring duct aside.2. Undo the lower bolts securing the air chamber to the cylinder head.
1. Undo bolts (1a) and remove air chamber assembly (1b) from the cylinder head.
1. Unscrew bolt (1a) securing the wiring loom retaining duct and open band (1b).2. Detach the timing sensor electrical connection.

3. Disconnect the electrical connections for the ignition coils and move the wiring to one side.

4. Undo the bolts and remove the ignition coils.5. Unscrew the bolt and remove the timing sensor.6. Remove the mounting bracket intermediate coupling.7. Unscrew the bolt and move the oil dipstick.8. Disconnect the electrical connection for the engine coolant temperature sensor.

3. Undo the nut and disconnect the alternator earth lead.

4. Undo the bolt and remove the engine block earth lead.

- Release the intermediate fastenings and remove the engine wiring loom.- Loosen the bolts securing the crankshaft pulley.1. Remove the auxiliary drivebelt.2. Undo bolts (2a) loosened previously and remove crankshaft pulley (2b).3. Undo bolts (3a) and remove timing side rigid engine mount (3b).
1. Undo bolts (1a) and remove upper timing drive belt cover (1b).2. Undo bolts (2a) and remove lower timing drive belt cover (2b).
1. Loosen the nut securing the timing drive belt moving tensioner.2. Remove the timing belt.
1. Fit the driven pulley locking tool.

1. Undo the nuts (1a) and remove the connector carrier bracket (1b).2. Undo the nuts (2a) and remove the camshaft seal rear cover (2b).3. Loosen the bolts securing the camshaft rear gears.
1. Undo the retaining bolt and remove the driven pulley.
1. Undo the protective caps for the bolts securing the cylinder head extension to the cylinder head and the O-rings.2. Using the tool (2a), undo the bolts (2b) fixing the camshaft housing to the cylinder head.

3. Position the tool (3a) for retaining the tappets underneath the camshaft housing (3b) and remove it.

4. Remove the gasket between the camshaft housing and the cylinder head.
1. Undo the bolt (1a) and remove the timing drive belt inner guard (1b).
1. Undo bolts (1a), remove cylinder head (1b) and keep gasket (1c).2. Remove the locating dowels.
- Rotate the engine through 180° on the overhaul stand. 1. Undo bolts (1a) and nuts (1b) securing the engine oil sump to the crankcase.2. Using the tool, cut the silicone sealant along the entire perimeter of the engine oil sump.
