Removing ( Refitting )
Before working on the air bag system, it is essential to perform the following preliminary operations.(1) turn the ignition key to the OFF position and extract it;(2) disconnect the battery terminals and insulate them;(3) wait for at least 10 minutes before continuing.FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
    Op. 5580C AIR BAG SYSTEM - Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

- If the vehicle is equipped with knee bags    Op. 5580C23 DRIVER'S KNEE BAG - R.R.Op. 7040A30 1. Working from inside the vehicle, disconnect the clutch release control cable (1a) from the pedal (1b).
1. Undo the release control cable tension adjustment ring nut.2. Disconnect the clutch control cable (2a) from the thrust bearing control lever (2b).
1. Undo the nuts (1a) fixing the flange to the opening in the partition (1b) between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment.- Remove the clutch release control cable working via the engine compartment.
Refitting ( Removing ) - Position the clutch release cable through the slot in the partition and tighten the flange fixing nuts.- Working from inside the vehicle, connect the cable to the clutch pedal.- Fit the retaining buffer for the clutch cable on the bracket on the gearbox.- Make sure that the cable is positioned on the thrust bearing control lever and tighten the tensioning ring nut.- If the vehicle is equipped with knee bags    Op. 5580C23 DRIVER'S KNEE BAG - R.R.Op. 7040A30     Op. 1820A14 CLUTCH PEDAL - ADJUST TRAVEL - Connect the negative battery terminal.
