Removing ( Refitting )
Before removing and refitting the Air Bag module the following preliminary operations must be carried out.Position the vehicle with the front wheels straight.Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and extract it.Disconnect the battery leads and insulate them.Wait for 10 minutes before continuing.
FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:    Op. 5580C AIR BAG SYSTEM
- Remove both front pillar trims    Op. 7040H30 FRONT PILLAR TRIM (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R. - Remove both the sun blinds.    Op. 7065C34 SUN BLIND (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R.     Op. 7040E10 FRONT COURTESY LIGHT - R+R - Remove both centre pillar cover upper elements.    Op. 7040H38 CENTRE PILLAR UPPER ELEMENT (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R     Op. 7040H80 REAR PARCEL SHELF - R.R. - For vehicles without a sun roof, proceed with dismantling the ceiling lining as described in the procedure:    Op. 7040H10 ROOF PANEL LINING - R.R. - For vehicles with a sun roof, proceed with dismantling the ceiling lining as described in the procedure:- Remove both grab handles:    Op. 7065C34 SUN BLIND (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R.     Op. 5580M20 ON BOARD NAVIGATION SYSTEM CONTROLS - R.R.    Op. 5570T14 MOBILE PHONE HANDS-FREE SYSTEM MICROPHONE - R R     Op. 7030B34 SLIDING ROOF COMPARTMENT DECORATIVE SEAL - R+R     Op. 7040H16 ROOF PANEL LINING FOR VERSIONS WITH SUN ROOF - R.R To complete the dismantling of the window bag module, proceed as described below: 1. Undo the front bolts securing the window bag module (1a) and release the band (1b) from the retainers
1. Disconnect the electrical connection (1a) for the charging cylinder and undo the fixing bolts (1b).

2. Remove the window bag.
- Place the window bag module in the special cupboard resting it on a free surface with the bag facing upwards. Refitting ( Removing )
Handle the window bag module very carefully. Make sure that the battery is disconnected.
If a new window bag is being fitted, position the labels. Remove the detachable part of the adhesive label from the new window bag and place it in the special folder containing the vehicle details (model, registration date, chassis number) and the serial number of the old window bag. The file should be kept for future checks. A new adhesive plate comes with the window bag and should be stuck on top of the existing one. Before sticking it, it should be perforated at the month and 14 years after the year in which the module is being fitted (e.g. 2021 for 2007).
1. Position the window bag (1a) and tighten the fixing bolts (1b) to the recommended torque.

- For vehicles with a sun roof, proceed with refitting the ceiling lining as described below:    Op. 7040H16 ROOF PANEL LINING FOR VERSIONS WITH SUN ROOF - R.R     Op. 7030B34 SLIDING ROOF COMPARTMENT DECORATIVE SEAL - R+R     Op. 5570T14 MOBILE PHONE HANDS-FREE SYSTEM MICROPHONE - R R     Op. 5580M20 ON BOARD NAVIGATION SYSTEM CONTROLS - R.R.- Fit both grab handles:    Op. 7065C34 SUN BLIND (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R. - For vehicles without a sun roof, proceed with refitting the ceiling lining as described in the procedure:    Op. 7040H10 ROOF PANEL LINING - R.R. To complete the refitting of the window bag module, proceed as described below:    Op. 7040H80 REAR PARCEL SHELF - R.R. - Fit both centre pillar cover upper elements.    Op. 7040H38 CENTRE PILLAR UPPER ELEMENT (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R     Op. 7040E10 FRONT COURTESY LIGHT - R+R - Fit both the sun visors.    Op. 7065C34 SUN BLIND (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R. - Fit both front pillar trims.    Op. 7040H30 FRONT PILLAR TRIM (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R. - Connect the battery terminals
