312002658 - 7210A45 R.R. LOWER FRONT STRUT/SIDE PANEL (LEVEL 2) PARTIAL (ONE) LEFT OR RIGHT

Removing ( Refitting )     Op. 7210E18 R.R. FRONT WING - Ensure that the components connected are not distorted by checking the body alignment measurements with suitable equipment (reference rigs, templates or gauges).- Straighten the body as necessary.
1. Cut the strut in the area shown in the diagram using a saw.- Use a rotary brush to remove the paint and gain access to the spot welds.2. Use the drill to chamfer the spot welds shown in the diagram.- Use a hammer and chisel to remove the previously chamfered spot welds.
- Use a rotary brush to remove the paint and gain access to the spot welds. 1. Use the drill to chamfer the spot weld shown in the diagram.2. Cut the strut in the area shown in the diagram using a saw.- Use a hammer and chisel to remove the previously chamfered spot weld, then remove the metal offcut.
- Straighten the edges of the vehicle using a hammer and dolly block.- Remove the spot weld residues using a disc grinder.- Use a rotary brush to clean the previously treated areas. 1. Apply electro-weldable paint to the area shown in the diagram.
Refitting ( Removing ) - Use the hack sawing machine and cut a piece from the replacement part (inner part of the strut) the same size as the part removed previously. 1. Remove the anti-corrosion treatment from the areas shown on the inside of the replacement part using the rotary brush.- Apply electro-weldable paint to the edges involved.
- Use the hack sawing machine and cut a piece from the replacement part (outer part of the strut) the same size as the part removed previously. 1. Remove the anti-corrosion treatment from the areas shown on the inside of the replacement part using the rotary brush.- Apply electro-weldable paint to the edges involved.
1. Position the inner part of the strut correctly on the vehicle using self-locking clamps.- Check the alignment.2. Seam weld in the areas shown using the MIG welder.3. Use a spot welder to weld the areas shown in the diagram.
1. Position the outer part of the strut correctly on the vehicle using self-locking clamps.- Check the alignment.2. Seam weld in the areas shown using the MIG welder.3. Use a spot welder to weld the areas shown in the diagram.4. Fill weld in the areas shown using the MIG welder.
- Fit the replacement crossmember attachment flange using the self-locking clamps. 1. When refitting, check that the replacement tab (1a) is positioned on the outside of the box section, that tab (1b) is positioned inside the box section and that the lower tab is positioned outside the box section.2. Use a spot welder to weld the areas shown in the diagram.3. Seam weld in the areas shown using the MIG welder.
- Correct any distortions to the panel using a mallet and dolly block.- Use a disc grinder to level the welding.- Use a rotary brush to clean the previously welded areas.- Apply rustproofing to the areas involved in the welding.- Seal the join lines between the replacement part and the vehicle.    Op. 7210E18 R.R.
