323001202 - 5020 HEATER

INTRODUCTION

This vehicle can be fitted with a simple system that heats the passenger compartment air. This system comprises a heater unit and a control panel. The air is distributed by a series of vents as illustrated in the diagram below:
1. Upper fixed vent2. Adjustable centre vents3. Fixed side vents4. Adjustable side vents5. Lower vents for front seats6. Lower side vents for rear seats7. Lower centre vent for rear seats (only on versions with front armrest)The following functions are available to the user:- heating the passenger compartment air- manual recirculation- variation of the flow rate of the air entering the passenger compartment- direction of the incoming air flows. These functions can only be set manually by the user using the control panel illustrated in the diagram below.
A - Air mixture control knobB - Fan speed selection knobC - Passenger compartment air distribution selection knobD - Cursor for switching interior air recircuation on/offThe transmission of the air mixture and air distribution commands from the knobs and the air recirculation from the knob lever to the heater casing takes place by means of transmission cables (bowden cables). The specifications of the resistor for selecting the fan speed are:- Speed 1: 2.158 Ohm- Speed 2: 0.865 Ohm- Speed 3: 0.336 Ohm- Speed 4: 0 OhmThe heater unit fited on the crossmember supporting the dashboard is identical to the manual climate control unit with the exception of the specific components for the air dehumidification and refrigeration circuit (evaporator, compressor control, pollen filter).Inside the heater, in addition to the flaps, is the radiator-heater, in which the engine coolant circulates, plus the pipes.
