323000368 - E3040 CENTRAL LOCKING - DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION

The vehicle is equipped with a central locking/unlocking function for the doors through which the locks in all four doors can be operated simultaneously. There are three different operating modes: using the buttons on the remote control, the key inserted in the driver''s door or passenger door lock or using the dedicated internal lever. On the HIGH configuration, the remote has 3 buttons which allow the operation of the central locking system: a button for unlocking the doors, one for locking the doors and one for unlocking the luggage compartment. If the boot does not have an opening/closing geared motor (LOW trim level), there are 2 remote control buttons (door locking and unlocking).
Low specifications are equipped with a simple mechanical key with a fixed insert without a remote control.
The door unlocking/locking strategy is activated by the Body Computer. The doors can only be locked if all the doors are properly shut. There is a dedicated switch which signals the door opening or closing status for each door for this reason. The Body computer can thereby acquire the status of each door and allow the locking/unlocking command. To activate the door locking, press the button in the remote control, operate the lever in the passenger compartment or insert the metal inert in the driver''s door lock and turn it clockwise (anti-clockwise for the passenger side door). The locking of the doors is signalled by a red deterrent LED in the driver''s door lighting up and the direction indicators flashing for about 2.5 seconds. If one or more of the doors is open, after the button on the remote control is pressed, the direction indicators and the LED in the driver''s door will flash quickly for around 2.5 seconds. If one or more of the doors is open, after the key metal insert is turned the LED only will flash quickly for about 2.5 seconds. The boot is considered to all intents and purposes as a door therefore if the doors are closed and the boot is open, after the locking command is given, the door locks are effectively locked, but the direction indicators and the LED will flash (only if the command comes from the remote control).    See E3046 BOOT OPENINGTo unlock the doors, use the dedicated button in the remote control which involves the direction indicators flashing twice or turn the metal insert in the driver''s door lock anti-clockwise or press the special internal lever. If the Body Computer acquires the signal from the inertia switch it controls the unlocking of the doors and inhibits subsequent locking commands. This condition is also signalled on the instrument panel via the general failure warning light and a special message on the display.A function can be enabled (or disabled) using the setup menu through which if the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km/h the Body Computer automatically locks the doors (obviously if they are properly shut). Once the doors are locked, they are not unlocked unless the vehicle speed goes below 20 km/h.The instrument panel acquires the door status signal via the CAN and lights up the "doors open" warning light and, at the same time, the information is shown on the display; in addition, if one of the doors or the boot or the bonnet is open and the speed of the vehicle exceeds around 4 km/h, an acoustic warning is also emitted. For further details,    See descriptions 7005 PASSENGER COMPARTMENT FRONT SIDE DOORS The central locking motors are protected by a dedicated fuse located in the junction unit under the dashboard.
