323000373 - E3050 FRONT ELECTRIC WINDOWS - DESCRIPTION (HIGH trim level)

DESCRIPTION

The electric windows for the front doors are operated by means of the switches on the driver''s door (both windows) and the passenger side (passenger side only). The front windows can be operated in "manual" or "automatic" mode.In the former case, the movement of the window lasts as long as the opening or closing button remains pressed; when it is released the electric motor responsible for the movement stops like the window. This takes place if the control remains pressed for between 50 and 300 milliseconds. If the button is pressed for more than 300 ms, the window continues moving even when the button has been released, until it reaches the end of travel position or the button is pressed again.Any activation of the controls that lasts for less than 50 ms is ignored by the system. The system is equipped with an anti-crush safety function that stops or reverses the movement of the window if it detects the presence of an obstacle when the window is moving. This function is activated in either manual or automatic mode. The protection function divides the travel of the window into two "areas":- the first zone extends to an area between 200 and 4 mm from the upper limit of the window. In this zone, in addition to stopping the window closing, the anti-crush safety function reverses its direction of travel until the window is at least 200 mm from the upper limit position. The system does not accept further opening/closing commands during this stage.- the second zone includes the remaining area and the anti-crush function is limited to stopping the travel of the window. If the anti-crush safety function is activated five times in less than a minute, the Body Computer inhibits the window from closing through the automatic mode, only allowing movements for less than 500 ms after which the button must be released and pressed again to relaunch the closing function. To resume normal operation, turn the ignition OFF and then ON and press the window opening button. The electric windows control unit can disable the automatic closing of the windows if there is a fault in the anti-crush safety system and if the window opening/closing controls are activated more than twenty times without the window upper or lower limit ever being reached. The function is activated with the ignition ON and even after it has been turned OFF (or with the key extracted) for a maximum of 1 minute. If one of the doors is opened during this period of one minute, the electric windows control unit disables the function.By pressing the door locking/unlocking controls in the remote control for more than two seconds the windows can be automatically opened or closed. There is a button on the driver''s front door controls which disables the opening and closing of the windows using the controls on the rear doors and two buttons for the movements.    See E3051 ELECTRIC REAR WINDOWS
