323001084 - 0010T20 ENGINE COOLANT - CHANGE

CIRCUIT CAPACITYThe total circuit capacity when new with the tank level at MAX is 7.6 litres.DRAINING THE CIRCUIT- With the engine cold, remove the cap on the expansion tank.- Position a basin under the car to collect the liquid.- Open the drain tap located in the lower part of the radiator.- Open the bleed screw on the upper part of the radiator, right side. FILLING AND BLEEDING THE CIRCUIT1. Close the drain tap located in the lower part of the radiator.2. Prepare enough mixture of 50% water/Paraflu FO (red) in a graduated container in order to refill the circuit.

3. Keep the bleed screw open.4. Slowly introduce the coolant through the filler on the tank until liquid overflows from the radiator bleed screw; then close the bleed screw.5. Continue introducing fluid until the level in the tank is at the MAX reference.6. Fit and tighten the expansion tank cap fully. 7. Start up the engine and let it idle for about 2 minutes.8. Remove the air from the circuit by carrying out periodic, gradual accelerations (every 30 secs) up to a speed of around 3000 rpm.
This operation should be carried out until the thermostat opens and the fan switches on and off at least 3 times.During this operation keep the climate control system switched off to prevent the fan from coming on for reasons unconnected to the heating of the coolant. If there is a noticeable drop in the level in the tank during this stage, let the engine idle and open the cap very carefully, topping up the fluid to the MAX level, then close the cap fully and remove all the air from the system.
9. Then stop the engine.10. After allowing the engine to cool, check that the liquid level is at the MAX mark on the tank.11. The total amount of coolant introduced into the system should at least equal the amount recovered during the circuit bleed; if not, top-up with liquid again and repeat the operation from point 7.
