323000425 - E4080 TRIP COMPUTER - DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION

The Trip Computer function allows several parameters relating to the operational status of the vehicle to be displayed on the control panel. For versions with a multifunction / reconfigurable multifunction display there are two separate Trip Computers known as Trip A and Trip B, which are able to work independently of one another. There is no Trip B display on the digital display.Trip A allows the display of the following parameters:- Range (shows the distance the vehicle can travel with the amount of fuel remaining in the tank, assuming that the same driving style is maintained);- Distance travelled (shows the distance travelled since the counter was last reset);- Average fuel consumption (the average fuel consumption since the counter was last reset);- Instant fuel consumption;- Average speed;- Trip time (time since the counter was last reset).Trip B allows the display of the following parameters:- Distance travelled;- Average fuel consumption;- Average speed;- Trip time.Trip Computer data is calculated inside the instrument panel. The instrument panel is a CAN node through which information is exchanged with the Body Computer and with the other electronic units. The Trip B function can be excluded via the instrument panel setup menu using the "Mode", "+" and "-" buttons in the left control panel. The complete function is only active with the key in the ON position. The parameters described previously can be displayed by using the TRIP button at the top of the right-hand steering column switch unit lever; it can also be used to reset the counter. The various parameters are displayed by a short press on the button, whilst a long press will reset the counter. Hold down the MENU ESC button on the control panel on the left for more than 2 seconds to exit the Trip function. The instant fuel consumption and range parameters cannot be reset. This diagram shows the operation of instrument panel functions that also affect the Trip Counter.
