323001917 - 1072BB AIR PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE SENSOR OPERATION CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDREMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
1Earth voltage checkTurn the key to the ON position.Using the voltmeter connect the negative probe of pin 1 of the sensor and the positive probe to the battery positive and check for a voltage of around 12 Volt.Move on to Step 2.Restore the electrical continuity of the cable between the engine control unit and the sensor. If OK, replace the engine management control unit.    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
2Temperature signal check.Disconnect the wiring for the sensor and connect between pins 1 and 2 using the ohmmeter.Check the resistance of the temperature sensor dependign on the temperature as illustrated in the table below.Move on to Step 3Replace the pressure sensor. Restore the electrical continuity of the cable coming from the engine control unit.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT If OK, replace the engine management control unit.    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
3Power supply check.Turn the key to the ON position and, using the voltmeter, check for a voltage of around 5 Volt between pin 3 and the earth.Move on to Step 4.Restore the electrical continuity of the cable between the engine control unit and the sensor. If OK, replace the engine management control unit.    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
4Pressure signal check.Connect the wiring to the sensor.Check between pin 4 and the earth for a voltage signal dependent on the pressure as illustrated in the enclosed graph.Replace the pressure sensor.Restore the electrical continuity of the cable coming from the engine control unit.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT If OK, replace the engine management control unit.    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
