Removing ( Refitting ) - Position the vehicle on the lift.- Open the bonnet.1. Disconnect negative terminal (1a) from the battery, having loosened it by rotating cam lever (1b).

Take care whilst opening the lever on account of the release device.

2. Undo the nut (2a) and disconnect the earth lead (2b) from the anchorage on the left knuckle.

1. Undo the bolt (1a) and disconnect the earth lead (1b) from the gearbox.

2. Keep the battery earth lead. Refitting ( Removing ) - Check that the battery earth lead is not damaged and test the electrical continuity.1. Position earth connection (1a) on the gearbox and secure with bolt (b).

1. Position the anchorage (1a) on the left knuckle and secure with the nut (1b).

2. Make sure that the release/attachment lever is in the opening position.3. Fit the terminal on the battery pole and press it down fully.4. Tighten lever (4a) and check that lead (4b) follows the correct path without setting up tension or having to be forced.

Exert a slight pulling force to check that the terminal is correctly attached.

- Close the bonnet.- Test the operation of the electrical system.
