323002201 - 1060GR OPERATION OF FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR ON RAIL CHECK

STEPCHECK TO BE PERFORMEDREMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK
With the engine idling and warm, with all the consumers off and the accelerator pedal not operated, the pressure regulator opening (MPROP) must be less than 45%.The test can be considered overMove on to Step 2
Turn the ignition key to STOP.Disconnect the wiring loom connector from the fuel pressure regulator.Turn the ignition key to MAR.Measure the voltage between Pin 2 of the regulator (wiring side)and Earth, checking it is greater than 11 V.    See N077 FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR Move on to Step 14Move on to Step 3
Turn the ignition key to STOP.Disconnect the wiring loom connector from connector B of the engine management control unit.Turn the ignition key to MAR.Measure the voltage across Pin 5 of the control unit (wiring side)    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth, checking it is less than 11 V.Move on to Step 5Move on to Step 4
If faults are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the pressure regulator.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
In the engine compartment junction unit, remove fuse F59 (second from the left on the second row from the bottom) from the base and check it has not blown.Move on to Step 12Move on to Step 6
Fit a new fuse F59 and check it does not blow.Move on to Step 8Move on to Step 7
If faults are present, repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the EGR valve.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered overReplace the EGR valve.
Turn the ignition key to STOP.Connect a shunt cable with fuse across Pin 80 of connector A (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth.Connect a shunt cable with fuse across pin 15 of connector B (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth.Check that fuse F59 does not blowReplace the EGR valve.
Disconnect the shunt connection.Measure the resistance across Pin 4 of connector B (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth, checking it is greater than 500 kOhmsRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Reconnect the wiring loom connector to the engine management control unit.Turn the ignition key to MAR.Check that fuse F59 does not blowReplace the engine management control unit    Op. 1060G80 DIESEL ELECTRONIC INJECTION CONTROL UNIT - R.R
Replace the fuel pressure regulator.    Op. 1060E10 DIESEL INJECTION PRESSURE PUMP - R.R. The test can be considered over
In the engine compartment junction unit, measure the voltage between the input contact for fuse F59 and Earth, checking it is greater than 11 V.Move on to Step 14Restore the correct electrical connections in the engine compartment junction unit or if necessary, replace it    Op. 5505A13 ADDITIONAL JUNCTION UNIT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT - R.R.
Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the engine compartment junction unit.    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT The test can be considered over
Turn the ignition key to STOP.Disconnect the wiring loom connector from connector B of the engine management control unit.Turn the ignition key to MAR.Measure the voltage across Pin 34 of the control unit (wiring side)    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth, checking it is less than 0.3 VRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Turn the ignition key to STOP.Measure the resistance across Pin 34 (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU and Earth, checking it is greater than 500 kOhmsRepair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
Measure the resistance across Pin 2 of the regulator    See N077 FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR and Pin 34 (wiring side) of the control unit    See M010 ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU checking that it is less than 5 Ohms.Repair or if necessary replace the electrical wiring between the engine management control unit and the pressure regulator    See E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT
