323002836 - E7051 ROBOTIZED GEARBOX - DESCRIPTION
Description
The vehicle is equipped with an electronically controlled manual gearbox known as Dualogic which allows two operating logics: MANUAL and AUTO.The gearbox comprises a traditional manual transmission with a gear lever to which an electronically controlled eletrohydraulic device that automatically manages the clutch and the engagement of the gears has been added.There are two system operating modes:
- the first manual type (MANUAL), in which the driver decides directly when to change gear;
- the second completely automatic (AUTO), in which the system decides when to make the gear change. It is possible to use the ECO function (Economy) with this logic which reduces consumption. This function is engaged by pressing the ECO button located amongst the controls in the dashboard.
The selection of the gear and the operating mode (MANUAL or AUTO) is made using the control lever at any speed.The control lever on the centre tunnel is the multistable floating type, in other words it has three stable and three unstable positions.The three stable positions correspond to neutral N, reverse R and the centre position located between the unstable UP (+) and DOWN (-) positions.The electronic control unit converses with the engine management control unit and the other network nodes via the CAN. See E1050 CAN CONNECTION LINES In addition, the robotized gearbox control unit provides its own diagnostic signal, via a dedicated K line, which is useful for continuously monitoring the entire device. See E8010 DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR The control unit operates an electro-hydraulic unit located on the gearbox, via a special electric pump, according to a complex operating logic.The autodiagnosis of the control unit indicates the source of these faults by turning on an instrument panel warning light. The control unit also sends the instrument panel information concerning the gear engaged which is shown in the display.The control unit only gives the go ahead for starting the vehicle, operating a dedicated engine compartment junction unit relay, if the following conditions are met: gear lever in position N and brake pedal pressed. See E5010 STARTING AND RECHARING The power supply lines for the control unit and the various system components (sensors and actuators) are protected by three fuses located in the engine compartment junction unit.For more details, See descriptions 2127 ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC SELECTION GEARBOX EXTERNAL CONTROLS
