323000066 - E2010 SIDE LIGHTS/NUMBER PLATE LIGHT - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
A single negative analogue signal is sent from steering wheel interface H005 to Body Computer M001 to manage both side lights and dipped beam headlamps: from pin 3 of H005 to pin 2 of connector A of M001; the signal is coded through various resistance partitions so that multiple information is sent from the steering column stalk unit to the Body Computer via a single connection. The reference earth reaches pin 10 of H005 from pin 9 of connector A of M001 via the dedicated line.On versions with Cruise Control, the side lights and number plate lights activation signal leaves pin 6 of H005, whilst the reference earth is supplied to pin 16.The Body Computer receives a power supply from the battery, via the line protected by fuse F1 located in the engine compartment junction unit B001. It also receives an ignition-controlled power supply (INT) from the ignition switch H001. The reference earth reaches pins 10 and 19 of connector A of M001.Body Computer M001 controls the power supply for front side lights F010 (left) and F011 (right) from pins 52 and 39 of connector D respectively, and for the rear side lights F030 (left) and F031 (right) and the number plate lights F050 and F051 from pins 8, 9 and 12 of connector B respectively. The Follow me home function is activated by a low beam flasher earth signal sent from stalk unit H005 (pin 2, pin 5 for versions with Cruise Control) to the Body Computer M001 (pin 4 of connector A).Body Computer M001 is connected, via the CAN line, to the instrument panel E050 to manage the side lights on warning light and, if there is a fault detected in the circuit or bulbs, the lights failure warning light.
