323000081 - E2012 MAIN BEAM HEADLIGHTS - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
A single signal is sent from steering wheel interface H005 to Body Computer M001 to manage the main beam headlamps in fixed and flashing mode: from pin 2 of connector A of H005 to pin 4 of connector A of M001; the signal is coded through various resistance partitions so that multiple information is sent from the steering wheel interface to the Body Computer via a single connection. The reference earth reaches pin 10 of H005 from pin 9 of connector A of M001 via the dedicated line.On versions with Cruise Control, the main beam headlamps activation signal leaves pin 5 of H005, whilst the reference earth is supplied to pin 16.The Body Computer receives a power supply from the battery, via the line protected by fuse F1 located in the engine compartment junction unit B001. It also receives an ignition-controlled power supply (INT) from the ignition switch H001. The reference earth reaches pins 10 and 19 of connector A of M001.The Body Computer M001 (from pin 12 of connector D) controls the supply for the main beam headlamps sending an earth signal to relay T02 in the engine compartment junction unit B001. This signal activates relay T02 thereby also supplying the (left) headlights F010 and the (right) headlights F011. Each circuit is protected by a fuse in control unit B001: F15 for the left headlight and F14 for the right.Relay T02 is, in turn, supplied by ignition switch H001 via the ignition-controlled line (15/54) at pin 30 of connector A of B001.Body Computer M001 is connected to instrument panel E050 via the CAN line to manage the main beam headlamps warning light (blue in colour).
