323000086 - E2020 DIRECTION INDICATORS/HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

A single analogue signal live to earth is sent from steering wheel interface H005 to Body Computer M001 to manage the left and right direction indicators: from pin 1 of H005 to pin 7 of connector A of M001; the signal sent is coded through various resistance partitions so that the signal relating to the flashing of the right-hand and left-hand direction indicators can be sent from the steering wheel interface to the Body Computer via a single connection. The reference earth reaches pin 10 of H005 from pin 9 of connector A of M001 via the dedicated line.On versions with Cruise Control, the direction indicators activation signal leaves pin 4 of H005, whilst the reference earth is supplied to pin 16.The hazard warning lights activation signal reaches pin 34 of connector A of M001 from the control button in unit H090 (pin 7).A positive activation signal is sent, from pin 29 of connector A of M001, for the LED in the hazard warning lights control button in the centre panel H090 (pin 16) at the same time as the hazard warning lights flash. The Body Computer receives a power supply from the battery, via the line protected by fuse F1 located in the engine compartment junction unit B001. It also receives an ignition-controlled power supply (INT) from the ignition switch H001. The reference earth reaches pins 10 and 19 of connector A of M001.The Body Computer M001 controls the left direction indicators F010 (front) and F020 (side) and the right direction indicators F011 (front) and F021 (side) from pins 50 and 51 respectively of connector D, whilst the rear direction indicators F030 (left) and F031 (right) are controlled from pins 18 and 6 of connector D.The Body Computer M001 is connected, via the CAN line, to the instrument panel E050 to manage the "direction indicator" warning lights, the buzzer and, if there is a problem in the circuit or with the bulbs, the "lights failure" warning light.
