323000399 - E3090 PARKING SENSOR - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The parking sensor control unit M084 receives a power supply, at pin 1 of connector A, from the ignition-controlled line (INT) protected by fuse F51 of the junction unit under the dashboard B002 (pin 25 of connector C). Pin 7 of connector A of M084 is earthed. The control unit M084 is connected, from pins 6 and 12 of connector A, via the CAN, to the Body Computer M001 (via pins 28 and 10 of connector C of B002) from which it receives the information that reverse gear is engaged, received from the reversing switch I020 or, on versions with a robotized gearbox, from the control unit M054.    See E2022 REVERSING LIGHTS At pin 6 of connector B the parking sensor control unit M084 receives any input relating to the presence of a trailer, an input which disables the function.Having received information that reverse gear is engaged, the parking sensor control unit M084 activates the parking sensors and communicates the information, via the CAN, relating to the activation of the buzzer incorporated in the instrument panel E050.The four parking sensors K097 (pin 3) send a signal to connector B of the control unit M084: pins 5, 3, 2 and 1 are, in effect, connected to sensors K097A (left outer), K097B (left inner), K097C (right inner) and K097D (right outer) respectively. The sensors receive a power supply (pin 1) respectively from pin 4 of connector B of control unit M084 and a reference earth (pin 2) from pin 8 of the same connector.Any system irregularities are signalled, via the CAN, through the general failure warning light in the instrument panel E050 and through a message in the display if present. The Body Computer receives a power supply from the battery, via the line protected by fuse F1 located in the engine compartment junction unit B001. It also receives an ignition-controlled power supply (INT) from the ignition switch H001. The reference earth reaches pins 10 and 19 of connector A of M001.
