Changing the manual gearbox fluid is not a planned maintenance operation and is only carried out during removing-refitting operations that involve draining the gearbox fluid.

- Position the vehicle on a lift.    Op. 7055B54 UNDER ENGINE PROTECTION/GUARD - R.R. 1. Undo the gearbox casing filler plug. 1. Undo the gearbox casing drain plug and collect the fluid in a suitable container.

Collect the transmission fluid in a suitable container.

Do not let the fluid disperse into the environment as indiscriminate dispersion of this product causes pollution.

- Clean the drain plug, put it back in its seat and tighten it to the recommended torque.

- Refill the gearbox with the specified fluid through the filler hole.- Check that the level of the fluid is 4 mm from the lower edge of the filler opening.1. Use a 2-3 mm diameter metal dipstick, folded from one side to form a right angle and approximately 10 mm long, indicating the 4 mm guide at the bottom of the dipstick.- Insert the dipstick in the gearbox filler opening, with the folded side facing downwards and the dipstick resting on the base of the hole.- Check that the level is 4 mm from the edge, using the guide on the dipstick.
