841003037 - FRONT SEATS

SPECIFICATIONS

The front seats have been designed for optimum driving comfort and maximum safety, guaranteeing the ideal specifications for lateral containment and lumbar support.In the front part of the seating area there is an excellent structure for anti-submarining, to prevent the body sliding forward under the seat belt in the case of strong deceleration (frontal impacts).The backrest frame is mae from a pressed steel structure which improves the capacity for energy absorption in the case of strong acceleration (rear impact).The seats are available in two versions:

  • semi-manual.
  • electric.

Semi-manual seats

The lengthwise adjustment and the adjustment of the head restraint take place through mechanical movement. The adjustment of the backrest (lumbar and height) is through electrical movement.

Electric seats

On both versions of the seat the heater function is available with three temperature settings:

  • temperature 1 - 36°C;
  • temperature 2 - 39°C;
  • temperature 3 - 44°C.

COMPOSITION

Head restraints

They are equipped with a height/angle adjustment device that allows them positioned stably in various intermediate positions with a travel of around 60 mm.

Seat belts

The front seat belts, with pretensioners, have a dual mounting on the seat.The belt therefore follows the seat in the various positions that it can assume, adjusting to guarantee maximum safety conditions in all situations. There is a sensor on the seat belt stalk that signals the fastening status of the belt (control unit).

Side Air Bags

The Side Bag module is fitted on the outside of the seat backrest frame. This solution, as opposed to installation on the pillar or the door, means that the Bag is always in the optimum position in relation to the occupant, irrespective of the adjustment of the seat or the size of the occupant.

Passenger presence sensor

The passenger presence sensor is a device capable of identifying the presence of a weight on the passenger front seat cushion (up to about 12 kg).The sensor is fitted in the seat between the upholstery and the cover and covers the entire seating area with the exception of the side panels.

Armrest

There is an arm rest between the front seats which can be opened and is height adjustable (4 positions) whch is secured to the lower centre trim.There is a lever in the arm rest housing which allows the air conditioning vents to be opened and closed.

OPERATION

Adjustment

The shape of the seat and the extensive adjustment possibilities, together with the possibilities of adjusting the steering wheel and the exterior mirrors, means that the optimum driving position can be achieved for drivers of different sizes with different driving styles.In addition to the adjustments (lengthwise, height, tilt, head restraint, lumbar) there is also a three position memory function (where fitted) for the driver''s seat which, when the vehicle has been switched off and then started up again places the seat in the position memorized previously.

Memorizing

The memorizing of the position of the driver''s seat is carried out using one of three buttons (known as 1, 2 and 3) after having personalized the position of the seat, the steering column and the exterior rear view mirrors. The memorizing is carried out by pressing one of the three buttons for more than 3 seconds. To confirm that the memorizing has taken place the control unit (NAG) sends a message, via the CAN, to sound the confirmation buzzer.
The following simultaneous movements are not allowed during manual adjustment:
