841003339 - E2012 MAIN BEAMS OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION

Operational Description

A high beam activation signal is sent by stalk switch H005 from pin 2 connector B to pin 33 connector C of Body Computer M001. The stalk switch must receive an enablement signal from exterior lighting control unit H092 from pin 9 connector A at pin 4 of connector B.Pin 9 always sends the same negative enablement signal to Body Computer M001, pin 4 of connector E.Body Computer M001 is activated with key on and also directly at pin 11 of connector H and pin A of connector B of underfacia control unit B002.Each circuit is protected by a fuse in engine bay control unit B001: F14 for the left headlamp and F14 for the right.Body computer M001 sends a high beam activation signal for the high beam warning light via the B-CAN network. The instrument panel receives a supply controlled by the ignition and a direct supply.Body computer M001 controls the high beam power supply by sending an earth signal to engine bay control unit B001 - from pin 5 of A of M001 - that activates relay R2 : this supplies the high beams of headlams F010 (left) and F011 (right). These lines are protected by fuses F37 and F53 of the junction unit under the dashboard B002, respectively. Pins 8 and 9 of connector E of the body computer are earthed.
