Before continuing with the operations described beow, cover the body paintwork to protect it and prevent damage whilst removing the electrical wiring.

Working on the bulkhead separating the passenger and engine compartments, undo the bolt fixing the dashboard crossmember to the bodyshell.
1. Undo the fixing bolt (1a) and disconnect the steering column (1b) from the steering box.
1. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1a), (1b) and (1c) for the dashboard coupling with the passenger compartment wiring, TV wiring and engine compartment wiring.

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) on both sides and remove the dashboard crossmember (1b) complete with steering column and dashboard wiring.
- Starting from the driver's side, release and remove the sound insulation panel under the dashboard, releasing it from the dashboard wiring.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors for the engine compartment wiring from the components located in the passenger compartment, driver's side.

1. Working on the bulkhead separating the passenger compartment from the engine compartment, undo the nuts (1a) for the plate fastening the cable duct to the bodyshell (1d) and pass the section of electrical wiring, driver's side, from the passenger compartment through into the engine compartment.
1. Release the recirculation pipe between the expansion tank and the thermostat from the retaining springs and place it at the side.2. Release the single fuel supply pipe (2a) and the evaporation control system pipe (2b) from the retaining springs and place them to the side.
1. Undo the fixing bolt (1a) and remove the bracket (1b) securing the evaporation control system pipe and the single fuel supply pipe.
1. Open the retaining band (1a) and place the power assisted steering hydraulic system fluid reservoir at the side.
1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and (1c) and remove the bracket complete with reaction rod (1b).
- Pass the length of electrical wiring, passenger side, through from the passenger compartment to the engine compartment.
Lubricate the passenger side rubber cable duct.
Carry out the operation described above with the help of a second mechanic.
- Disconnect the connectors for the electrical components located in the wheel arch, left and right hand sides and then pass the length of wiring into the engine compartment, releasing the rubber cable ducts from their housings.
