376926 - S35 NOISE FROM THE POWER ASSISTED STEERING IN THE END OF TRAVEL POSITION

Whilst the steering is operated there is a noise when it reaches the end of travel position.

Visually inspect that the level of the power assisted steering in the reservoir is correct; conduct a test steering completely and then releasing the steering wheelMove on to Step 1. Level too low1. Restore the correct level; if there are leaks, eliminate them

3. The noise remains constant (hissing whilst steering, puffing on release) 3. No intervention is nececssary: the noise is due to the by-pass valve that discharges the excess pressure

Visually inspect the power assisted steering fluid in the reservoir. Make sure that there is no emulsified fluid (fluid that is lighter in colour with bubbles)Move on to Step Emulsified fluidEliminate any air penetraion through the power assisted steering system pipes
