During acceleration there is a consisten increase in the engine revs without a corresponding increase in speed

With the engine running, press the clutch pedal and engage 4th gear. Accelerate and gradually release the clutch pedal, checking that the engine revs not increase during this manoeuvre whilst the vehicle remains stationary.Move on to Step The vehicle does not move and the engine revs increaseMove on to Step
1CLUTCH - FLYWHEEL ASSEMBLY CHECKALL OKPROBLEMS ENCOUNTEREDACTION
Check the following, in order:

  • clucth plate wear
  • clutch plate fouling
  • no distortion of the clutch plate
  • condition of the diaphragm spring
  • condition of the flywheel (in particular the state of the surface, uneven wear, signs of overheating)

2. Disc fouled with oil or grease2. Replace the clutch plate, clean the assembly, eliminate the oil leaks    See in Op. 1810A24 CLUTCH - R.R. with gearbox removed
