72439 - E03 CLUTCH VIBRATING OR JERKING

There are vibrations and jerking at the clutch pedal. When the clutch pedal is released the vehicle does not move off smoothly, but there are vibrations or jerking.First, check:

	Check the condition and centering of the front crossmember, the supports and the engine fastening connecting rod.	Move on to Step	1. Engine support fastening faulty	1. 			2. Connecting rod fastening faulty	2. Adjust the fastenings: loosen the bolts, centre them in their housings and tighten them to the recommended torque.
3	CLUTCH PLATE CHECK	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check: check that the clutch plate is not worn or "vitrified" that there is no damage to the pressure plate diaphragm spring	Move on to Step	1. Clutch plate faulty	1. Replace the clutch plate < R1 > . If there is oil, replace the gearbox input oil seal < R2 >     See in Op. 2110C20 SEALS FOR gearbox input shaft - Replace with gearbox removed
			2. Pressure plate faulty	2. Replace the pressure plate    See in Op. 1810A20 CLUTCH - R.R.
4	SPLINED HUB CHECK	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check the condition of the clutch plate hub, the gearbox main shaft and the condition of the assembly	Move on to Step	1. Clutch plate hub faulty	1. Replace the clutch plate    See in Op. 1810A20 CLUTCH - R.R.
			2. Gearbox main shaft faulty	2. Replace the gearbox main shaft    See in Op. 2110B20 MANUAL GEARBOX (5 speed) and differential - Dismantling and reassembly - Washing components - Replacing synchronizers and internal controls, if necessary
5	FLYWHEEL CHECK	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check the condition of the flywheel (in particular the condition of the surface and make sure that there is no overheating, uneven wear, incisions or material removed) and the operation of the flexible couplings	Move on to Step	Flywheel damaged	Replace the flywheel    See in Op. 1024B22 ENGINE FLYWHEEL - R.R. with clutch removed for versions with manual gearbox
