108813 - 2125C30 GEAR ENGAGEMENT FLEXIBLE RODS

Removing ( Refitting ) 1. Move the pin (1a) backwards until it is released from the housing in the bracket (1b).2. Press the two tabs (2a) and lift up the head (2b) until it is released from the ball joint.- Carry out the same operation on the other flexible cable.3. Release the two flexible cables and place them well away from the power unit.     See in Op. 2125C26 Lever/grip TRIM - R.R. for versions with reverse gear engagement device- Position the vehicle on a lift.    See in Op. 1080B62 CATALYTIC CONVERTER - R.R.1. Undo the retaining nuts.2. Remove the side flexible mounting supporting the exhaust pipe.3. Remove the front heat shield (3a) and the centre one (3b) for the exhaust pipe.

1. Undo the nut fixing the front bracket for the flexible cables to the bodyshell.2. Act on the fastening springs and remove the protective cover.3. Release the ends (3a) of the selector and engagement cables from the lever and from the idler by pressing the tabs (3b).4. Remove the fastening springs and release the two flexible cables from the mounting.5. Remove the gear selector and engagement cables.

Refitting ( Removing ) - Fit the ends of the selector and engagement cables on the lever and on the idler.- Fit the fastening springs for the two flexible cables on the support.- Fit the protective cover in the housing on the support.- Tighten the nut fixing the mounting bracket for the flexible cables to the bodyshell.- Fit the front heat shield and tighten the fixing bolts.    See in Op. 1080B62 CATALYTIC CONVERTER - R.R.    See in Op. 2125C26 Lever/grip TRIM - R.R. for versions with reverse gear engagement device 1. Position the gear lever (1a) in contact with the reverse gear inhibitor partition (1b).

1. Position the spacer tool under the gear engagement lever.

- Connect the end of the gear selector self-adjusting flexible cable.- Secure the flexible cable to the mounting bracket engaging the pin on the actual cable in the housing.- Connect the end of the gear engagement self-adjusting flexible cable.- Secure the flexible cable to the mounting bracket engaging the pin on the actual cable in the housing.- Place the gear lever in Reverse and remove the tool positioned under the gear engagment lever.

- Place the gear lever in neutral.- Remove the vehicle from the lift.
