841003789 - E2530 INSTRUMENT LIGHTING DESCRIPTION

Description

The car is equipped with numerous light sources for optimal lighting of interior instruments and controls.Some of these are light under Key-on conditions (INT), others with the side lights on. Others are dimmable in accordance with a rheostat-controlled adjustment strategy managed by the Body Computer.The following controls are lit when the ignition is turned to INT:

  • driver-side front handle lighting led;
  • passenger-side front handle lighting led;
  • left and right side rear handle lighting led.
With the key in INT position enablement and side light command positions, the Body Computer manages the lighting of:

  • ashtray;
  • cigar lighter surround;
  • power point in rear armrest;
  • rear power point.
Key-on (INT) and side light command (+lights) status are transmitted via the CAN network for other functions.Adjustment of interior lighting intensity level is activated by direct turning of the rotary control (potentiometric) on the exterior lighting control unit (CLE).The instrument panel downloads the adjustment command, shows the level (1 to 9) on the interior display and sends it via the CAN network to the other control units affected by the function. When the light dimmer adjustment control on the upper part of the display is adjusted, a "control brightness adjustment" message is displayed and the segments on a lighted bar at the bottom of the display are lit up/extinguished.The instrument panel fault warning light leds must not be subject to adjustment.If the side lights are deactivated, the displays are lit up and may be adjusted at all times.
