The front driver and passenger side seats are equipped with an adjustment device that ensures the driver and passenger the best possible position and comfort.The driver side electrical adjustment device is fully managed by the driver position control unit: movements may be manual, by means of the control unit on the left of the seat, or automatic, by calling up one of three possible stored settings.Passenger side seat adjustment is, however, manual only: it is implemented by means of the control unit on the seat or using controls on the armrest.Electric head restraint movement (manual and automatic) can be activated only with key-on (INT). At key-off (STOP), a one minute timer starts and automatic completion of the memory recall operation must be completed within this time. he device is excluded temporarily during start-up (INT/A).The "Easy Entry/Exit" function is activated to make to easier for the driver to get into and out of the car: this moves the steering column up practically as far as it will go and simultaneously moves the front driver seat back by about 5 cm upon key-off and opening of the driver side front door See E3040 CENTRAL LOCKINGThe manual seat adjustment control unit includes:
a button to tilt the cushion (forward and back);
a button to slide the seat unit longitudinally;
a button for adjust backrest rake;
a button to raise/lower the seat unit vertically;
a joystick for lumbar adjustment (by means of two inflatable cushions inside the seat).
The steering wheel and seat return to the positions set by the user when stable conditions are restored, i.e. door closed nad key-on.Three buttons on the front driver seat are used to call up stored positions automatically. See E3032 DOOR MIRROR ADJUSTMENT See E3035 STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENT See E3077 FRONT HEAD RESTRAINT ADJUSTMENTThis memory funcion is managed by the driving position control unit, which downloads seat and steering column positions directly and also door mirror positions via the CAN network. The control unit stores all the above positions when one of the three buttons is held down for at least three seconds. A buzzer inside the instrument panel goes off when the positions have been stored.The memory recall function is inhibited when the car is travelling faster than 10 km/h, via a signal sent via the CAN network from the Body Computer to the driving position control unit.Lumbar adjustment of both seats takes place by means of a joystick that supplies and directly controls the inflation and deflation device of the two cushions inside the seat units.
