The vehicle should be in the following condition before the operation: boot lid removed, rear wing removed.
Removing ( Refitting ) - Check whether the components connected are distorted through the bodyshell alignment measurements using suitable test equipment (test benches, templates or jigs).- Carry out any straightening operations to the bodyshell before cutting the component.1. Make cuts in sections (1a) and (1b) using a power saw.2. Remove the spot welds shown in the diagram using a chamfering machine and a drill.3. Detach the rear wing frame and remove it.
Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Grind the surface of the bodyshell affected by the welding and apply electro-galvanizing paint to the surface treated.
1. Remove the anti-corrosion treatment using a rotary brush from the entire outer (1a) and inner (1b) perimeter of the replacement part and apply electro-galvanizing paint.
1. Position the replacement part (1a) and secure it using self-locking clamps (1b).- Check that the replacement part is correctly positioned.2. Weld in the areas shown in the diagram.3. Seam weld in the cutting areas (3a) and (3b).
- Check that the welded components are correctly positioned.- Level the spot welds using a disc grinder.- Clean the inner and outer parts using a rotary brush.- Apply electro-galvanizing paint to the parts ground.
When the operation is completed, refit the elements removed previously.
