The single, dry plate type clutch release/engagement action takes place through the operation of a thrust sleeve pressed against the thrust spring by the release mechanism.The movement causes the discharge of the spring pressure which keeps the clutch plate in contact with the engine flywheel, thereby interrupting the transmission of power to the gearbox.
