When the brake pedal is pressed the travel is greater than normal

STEP	OPERATIONS TO BE CARRIED OUT	TEST RESULTS
1	BRAKE PEDAL FLEXIBILITY CHECK	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check that the brake pedal is not fleixble. Check that the brake fluid level is correct Check that there are no fluid leaks from: connectors, pipes, flexible pipes, reservoir, wheel cylinders, master cylinder Check that the flexible pipes do not expand as a result of the braking action Check that there are no obstructions in the brake fluid reservoir opening.	Move on to Step	1. Pedal flexible	1. Bleed the air    See in Op. 3330A14 Hydraulic braking system - Bleed air
			2. No fluid in the reservoir due to leaks	2. Tighten the connectors or replace the component producing the leak, then top up the level    See in Op. 3330A10 Brake fluid - Check level and top up, if necessary
			3. No fluid, but no visible leak	Move on to Step
			4. Front flexible pipes expanding	4. Replace the flexible pipes
			5. Opening obstructed	5. Clean the opening.
2	BRAKE PEDAL CHECK	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Check that there are not two pressure stages for the brake pedal and that it returns promptly	Move on to Step	1. The pedal catches: one pressure chamber is faulty	1. Replace the brake pump    See in Op. 3330C14 MASTER CYLINDER (PUMP) - R.R. for versions with A.B.S.

3	CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
	Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment to the diagnostic connector check the following at the Parking Brake Node (N.P.B.):in error environment that there are no faults in active diagnosis ambient the efficiency of the parking brake electric actuator by activating the brake switching on and off functions	Move on to Step	Presence of errors / actuator faulty	Continue following the instructions in the diagnostic table
4	BRAKE PEDAL FLEXIBILITY CHECK THROUGH ROAD TEST	ALL OK	PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED	ACTION
