841004158 - E3045 BOOT OPENING - FUEL FILLER FLAP - COMPARTMENT MOTOR DESCRIPTION

Description

The boot is opened by means of:

  • a button on the facia;
  • the remote control.
A boot release button is present on the facia. The boot control unit downloads the lock/release signal and controls the boot in accordance with the following strategy:

  • the boot is released when the key is pressed;
  • the boot is released if the key is pressed for longer than one second.
Every time the key is pressed subsequently, the lock continues to be unlocked or released. Button commands are not accepted in any case if car speed exceeds 10 km/h.The boot is unlocked automatically upon central door release. The handle is enabled in accordance with the door lock function and can be used to open the boot. If the "independent driver''s side door unlock" option is active, the boot is not unlocked because the only car access point is the front driver''s side door.Once the boot has been opened by means of the electric handle, the boot returns to its previous status once it is reclosed:

  • if the car was unlocked, the boot returns to its unlocked status and can be reopened by means of the handle;
  • if the car was locked, the boot returns to locked status to realign with the status of the others doors. The turn signals flash for one second and the alarm is activated. (Wiring Diagram ) E7015 ALARM
The boot can be set to one of two modes from the instrument panel:

  • boot controlled by door lock (default): boot status reflects door status. When the car is locked, the boot is locked. When the car is unlocked, the boot is unlocked;
  • boot independent: the boot is locked at all times (to protect contents) and can be open only unlocking the lock mechanically by means of the boot catch.
A dedicated boot key on the remote control (3rd key) can be used to release the boot. When this is held down for longer than two seconds, the boot is unlocked, released and lifted slightly.

  • fuel filler flap locked with door locked
  • fuel filler flap unlocked with door unlocked
Because the front driver door can be unlocked and operated independently of the other doors, fuel filler flap status is linked to the locked/unlocked status of the front driver side door:The fuel filler flap is managed directly by the body computer.The boot compartment control unit receives glove compartment flap opening command from a switch on the facia. This command can be activated even with key-off
